 A meeting was held at the ministry of economy on Sunday the 5th Oct, 2008 presided by the trade assistant minster of Libyan Ministry of Economy with the US trade assistant minster and his delegates. The meeting included the General Director of Libyan Export Promotion Center and some of divisions heads from Ministry of Economy.

The objective of this Forum is to identify how to deal with the agricultural products at the post harvest stage, to maintain the agricultural crops and means of their export pursuant to the International Specifications.
The activities of this Forum have been attended by many Researchers, Concerned Parties, Agricultural extension Directors, Owners of Preservation and Cooling Centers of Crops and many of Tenants and Exporters. Many lectures, about the recent techniques that have to be used upon harvest, have been recited. The subject of the first lecture was concerning the quality and its necessity in International Markets, methods of its management, its preservation and the good agricultural applications, such as (Euro Gap).
Other lecture has been recited about diseases and their effects on food loss, quality and human being health as well as the subject of pests and their effect on food loss.
Also a lecture with title (Usages of Techniques for Export) has been recited. It included harvest, sorting out, filling, preservation, cool transport and shipping. Other subject was methods of handling the crops for export (olive, dates, orange, lemon, potato and onion).
All these come within the range of the objectives of the Center for Development of the Libyan Exports whereas to have position in the foreign markets and consequently supporting the National Economy.
